The End

She glanced at her phone. He wasn't coming. She wasn't enough and he would never be there. All that time wasted. Her breathing quickened and her heart raced. She made her way to her room. Grabbing a big box she started shoving the things that had defined them inside it.

The paddle went first. She ran her hand along the smooth wood, felt it's weight, then closed her eyes and set it on the bottom of the box. Smaller implements followed, the riding crop she flicked in the air then paused...it was getting harder to breathe. The emptyness was weighing so heavily on her chest, a big hole threatening to swallow her. She shook it off, opening the closet she pulled out the lacey things she'd saved, still with the tags and stuffed them in the box along with the dresses she'd made, the things she had wanted to wear for him.

Gripping the doorway she steadied herself as tears threatened to fall. She was dizzy now, that black hole getting bigger inside her. It was going to consume her by the end, she was damaged.. broken.

She looked at the leather belts, hanging from hooks she'd screwed in herself. She closed her eyes tight, sucking back the tears as she pulled them off one by one, smelling their pungent, enticing scent she rolled them up and tucked them deep within the box.

This part of her life was over. She knew she could only survive a pain like this once and did not dare to go down the road again. She would bury all this stuff deep so it would never haunt her again.

She'd been happy before, when she had pushed this stuff to the side. There was a small void, something missing but nothing like this emptyness. It was as if he wanted to play a cruel joke on her, pull her out of her blissfulness and trap her with his promises.He'd pulled her back into everything, reminder her of all the things she had desired.

But it was over. It had never even been able to start.
