This is not an ageplay story (although I like them, and will probably post one soon). This is about a grown woman, needing some help and wanting a deep connection with someone. And he became her Daddy. I wrote this years ago, after having gotten to know a man who was an amazing Daddy to an adult girl. She was a very lucky young woman <smile> Don't feel gipped - the spanking is in the next part. Enjoy.
Today
Putting the now-sleeping baby into his crib for his nap, Lexi grinned at her friend. “Thanks,” she whispered to Hailey, as the young mother continued nursing her other child. “It always gets to me … holding a baby while they fall asleep.” Hailey just smiled back, knowing exactly how Lexi felt – it was the same way she felt each night.
With a wink, Lexi headed out toward the guestroom – Lexi’s room, Hailey called it – thinking about taking a nap. Outside of the bedroom door, though, stood Ryan, Hailey’s husband, his arms folded across his chest and a dark frown on his face. Lexi’s steps slowed a little, and she smiled nervously, trying to seem as though nothing was wrong.
“Hey, stretch,” she greeted him, looking up into his stormy gray eyes. “I’m just headed to take a quick nap before the party tonight.” Lexi loved to tease Ryan about his height – he was 6’1” … very tall to her 5’2” … even taller to Hailey’s 5’ even – but he didn’t crack a smile at all.
“What time did you go to bed last night, Lexi?” Ryan asked softly, his relaxed tone at complete odds with his stance. Lexi swallowed a little; she’d guessed that was why Ryan was so obviously upset. She just didn’t know how he’d found out. Not that the ‘how’ really mattered; Lexi knew Ryan would make his feelings on certain things – including her bedtime – crystal clear. In ways she’d rather not think about.
Because Ryan was Lexi’s friend, confidant, confessor, counselor and disciplinarian. He was her Daddy.

Last year
Alexis Stanton was a successful 29-year-old woman. Anyone that knew her would say she had herself together, that she could handle just about anything the world threw at her. But if someone truly knew her, they’d realize that she was actually faking it extremely well. And that act was taking a lot more out of her than she’d cared to admit for a long time. Lexi had been friends with Ryan and Hailey Masters for a while and, trusting them as much as she did, she opened up completely and let them see how much she ran herself into the ground just to deal with life. They each reacted with love and support, but in slightly different ways. Hailey took Lexi into her own confidence, sharing her life history – good and bad – and supporting Lexi’s good decisions thoroughly while trashing her bad ones with equal ferocity. She was privy to every aspect of Lexi’s life, and her gentle voice and quiet intelligence had gone far to helping Lexi adjust the way she lived and improving her life in general. Hailey became a mix of best friend, sister and mother to Lexi. She’d just as quickly get into trouble with her friend as she would scold that same friend if she thought Lexi wasn’t doing as she needed to. She truly was Lexi’s best friend.
Ryan, meanwhile, became a father figure to Lexi. Only two years older than her, he had a strong sense of self, family and God that came from the core of his being. It was that confidence that Lexi felt and reacted to with Ryan. Being one of the older siblings from a large family, Ryan was used to ‘parenting’ long before their twins were born. And his and Hailey’s household had always been a very old-fashioned one: he established rules and guidelines for Hailey and he enforced them strictly. Usually over his knee. He’d often joked that Lexi and Hailey were ‘peas in a pod’, and sometimes felt that Lexi deserved – and needed – the same treatment that Hailey often received from him. Unconsciously reacting to Ryan’s confident attitude Lexi had joked about him acting like her Daddy. Ryan was right: Lexi and Hailey were much alike. Slowly, Lexi came to realize and accept that she did need some guidance similar to what her friend had. Although she dated regularly, Lexi didn’t have a steady boyfriend, and had no one in her life that she’d trust to be accountable to. Except Ryan. One morning, during a visit, she’d nervously and stutteringly asked Ryan if he’d be willing to help her, haltingly admitting to some of the problems she’d been having. And, when he pulled her onto his lap and cuddled her, offering to be a Daddy to both the little girl inside of Lexi … and the big girl that still needed help, she’d cried. Her nerves had been stretched taught, and the relief of being able to rely on someone else went far to chipping away at the walls she’d long-since built within her.
Lexi had known for some time about Ryan and Hailey’s relationship, and the domestic discipline they used. In truth, she was envious, and hoped to have that someday. With a boyfriend or husband. But she never stopped to think about Ryan ever doing that to her. Or, maybe she just didn’t let herself not think about it. Even though Ryan had agreed that Lexi needed someone looking out for her, and he happily took on the role of a Daddy, Lexi was very nervous about him ‘adopting’ her. Not because of Ryan, but because of Hailey. Her best friend. Lexi didn’t want her friend to feel that Lexi wanted Ryan to herself, or that she was usurping Hailey’s husband, or putting a burden on him … or them. Hailey’s friendship meant more to her than any situation she could get into, and Lexi wouldn’t risk that friendship for anything. It took more than a few times for Hailey to laugh at the idea before Lexi started to relax. Even still, Lexi held back from coming to Ryan as often as she wanted to. Or needed to. She was afraid that Hailey would be upset. And, as much as she needed it, Lexi was nervous about answering to her best friend’s husband. But not coming to him was what finally led to her first scold from her “Daddy”.
You see, Lexi did have a hard time dealing with life, but created many of her own problems. Something Ryan was fully aware of. Her bad habits were going to be the death of her, he was convinced. Like her habit of staying up for all hours, usually online, talking to her friends and scouring the net for things to use in her side job as a web site designer. Of course, she’d have to get up for work the next morning, so Lexi would try to get by on only a few hours of sleep during the week, then crash on weekends when she could. One Saturday, Lexi’d gone to visit Hailey and play with the kids a bit. Venting over coffee as usual, Lexi let slip that she’d been late to work four out of five days each of the past few weeks, with lateness being a problem for quite a while before.
Hailey whistled low. “Better not let Ryan hear about that,” she said, softly grinning. But then, her expression changed, and she looked closer at Lexi. “Actually, why hasn’t he heard about that, hmm? Are you having problems sleeping?”
Lexi shook her head, “No. I’ve just been catching up with some people online – some for the business, you know? They’re all in different areas, so some of them hit the ‘Net late. I keep intending to get to bed earlier, but I lose track of time.” She waived away Hailey’s other concern, “I’m not hiding it from Ryan. But, well, this is a little problem, and I didn’t want to bother him with it, yanno? I’m taking a break this weekend, and getting myself back together.” Lexi shrugged, passing it off, but Hailey was already shaking her head.
“Late nearly every day, Lex? It’s not a little problem. C’mon. Aren’t you worried about keeping your job?” At Lexi’s blush and sudden interest in re-arranging the salt and pepper shakers, Hailey shook her head again. “Damn, girl. You need to talk to Ryan. You’ve been like this for weeks? And you know we’ve talked about it before. Lex, you hate going to bed, and you know it. But, now, it’s is becoming a bigger problem than you’ll admit.” Hailey shook her head as Lexi opened her mouth to argue. “If you don’t go to him, you’ll have to have a good reason. Because this is the kind of stuff you go to him for. Lex, this is what you *asked* him for. This is what Daddies are for.” Hailey paused, but knew she had to give Lexi a reason and push her to going to Ryan. “And, well, if you don’t talk to him … I will. And I really think he’d go much easier on you if it came from you.”
Lexi snorted, “What’s he going to do? Send me to bed without supper?” Her voice and attitude were downplaying the situation, but inside she was both dreading Hailey’s answer, and hopeful it was the one she needed. It was that mix of fear and need that always had Lexi trying to avoid talking to Ryan, but only needing him more.
Now it was Hailey’s turn to snort. “Really? Haven’t you figured out yet how Ryan handles things around here? Go. He’s in his office. May as well get it over with, love.”
Suddenly, Lexi was horribly nervous, and a million excuses why she didn’t need to tell Ryan anything were racing through her head. And all were falling way short of being helpful at all. She looked up at Hailey with not a little fear. With a soft smile, Hailey stepped over and wrapped her friend into a close hug as Lexi sat there, and rested her chin on Lexi’s head. Softly, she reassured her, “He’s not going to kill you, little sister. And he’s not going to hurt you. And he’s not going to rant or scream or berate you. You know all of that. You know Ryan. And, that’s not what Daddy’s do. And Ryan is your Daddy. And he loves you as much as I do. He’s going to talk to you, and understand what’s going on. He’s going to help you and, if necessary, some of that help will be a spanking. But, Lexi,” Hailey kissed her friend’s auburn head and tugged her up out of her chair, “you can’t get any help from Ryan unless you talk to him. Go on, now,” Hailey gave Lexi a gentle push.
Lexi looked over her shoulder for a moment, still debating, then finally grinned at Hailey. “I love you, yanno that, ladyfair?” And she headed to Ryan’ office, lightly tapping on the open door. Ryan looked up, and smiled at her.
“Come to see Daddy, kitten?” he called with a smile, waving her over to him for a hug. Lexi pasted a smile on her own face and nodded. But Ryan was neither an unobservant man, nor a foolish one. He noticed Lexi’s look before that fake, over-bright smile showed up. He noticed the way she shifted from foot to foot – just like a little girl caught in mischief. He noticed her hands, wringing together. He noticed all of it, but didn’t say anything. Something was up, and he knew it. When she reached his side, Ryan tugged her onto his lap, cuddling her.
As usual, Lexi felt a small start of surprise that she fit on Ryan’s lap comfortably for both of them. She also loved how secure and ‘little girl-ish’ it made her feel. She gave in to an overwhelming desire, and rested her head on Ryan’ shoulder, burrowing against him. Very softly, he stroked her arm for a few minutes while she relaxed. Then, in a casual voice, he said, “Tell me what’s up, kitten.”
“Nothing, Daddy,” Lexi said … well, fibbed. “I came in to say ‘hi’ before I went home.”
But Ryan said nothing for a long moment, just letting the silence wear on Lexi. Then, “Let’s try that again, Lexi. There’s something you need to tell me. So, spill it.”
This time it was clear to her. He might not know what was going on, but Ryan knew something was. And he wasn’t going to drop it. Her jaw dropped a little, and she leaned away to gape at him. “How … why do you say that?” she demanded. But he just raised an eyebrow and easily stared her down.
“Spill it,” he said, and this time it was a clear command.
With a small sigh, Lexi admitted, “I’ve been getting to work late.”
“Why? Are you oversleeping?” Ryan asked, knowing he’d probably have to drag it out of her.
Lexi nodded. “I’ve been really tired. And now it’s becoming a bit of a problem at work, Ryan.”
“That’s Daddy to you, little one,” Ryan said firmly, ignoring Lexi’s blush. “Why are you oversleeping, baby? Is it because you’re not feeling well?” Long accustomed to Hailey, Ryan was very talented at drawing out the truth, and was very talented at reading between the lines of what he’s told. Lexi tried shrugging in answer, but a sharp cough from Ryan convinced her to quit stalling.
“I haven’t been going to bed on time, so I’m tired in the mornings. I wasn’t gonna say anything, Ryan – “ Another sharp cough had her pause and, blushing, she continued, “I mean, Daddy. But, well, Hailey said I had to.”
“And Hailey’s usually right about that stuff, kitten. How long has this been going on?”
Lexi shrugged again, trying to deny the importance of this, and whispered her answer, “About two months.”
“Two months?!” Ryan exploded. He’d figured a few days. “Just why, little girl, am I hearing about this now? And how has your boss responded?”
Lexi debated a moment, deciding which question held the least potential for problems for her, and softly said, “I’m on probation at work. If I’m late again then I’m fired.”
Ryan just nodded. That was about what he’d expected, and was the decision he would’ve made himself in the same situation. But he wanted an answer to his other question and he nudged Lexi. “Why didn’t you come to me before now, kitten?” he asked firmly.
Lexi tried shrugging again and Ryan caught her chin between his thumb and forefinger, tipping her face back, forcing her to look directly at him. “A shrug is not an answer, Alexis. When I ask a question, I want the answer. And without evasion, please.” His eyes had gone steely gray, and Lexi swallowed, nervous for the first time with him.
“I didn’t want you to have to worry about something that’s not a big deal. I mean, you’ve got your company to run, and Hailey and the babies and all…” Lexi’s voice trailed off, but Ryan already knew the answer. She hadn’t wanted to burden him. God help him, he was sick of that word. He cuddled Lexi close for a long minute, thinking things over. Finally, he nodded, mostly to himself.
“Okay. Later tonight, you and I are going to have a long talk about our relationship, little girl.” Ryan held Lexi close when she froze in his arms, and gently rubbed her back. “Hush,” he reassured her quickly. “I’m not going to stop being your friend. Or stop being your Daddy. But you’re going to have to trust me that I do know that I have responsibilities. And that, as much as I love you – and I do love you, kitten – I know those responsibilities come first. But, like I just said: I … love … you.”
Lexi had already started to sniffle, and Ryan’s words were getting to her in this vulnerable state she was in. “And, because I love you, I wouldn’t have volunteered to be your Daddy if I wasn’t ready to help you with some of your responsibilities. That’s what we’re going to talk about, Lexi. You trusting me to know my limits. AND you trusting me to know how to take care of you. What you need and what I need. Okay?”
Burying her head against Ryan’ neck, Lexi silently nodded her agreement, relaxing in his arms as the relief spread through her.
“But that’s for later tonight,” Ryan continued in his softly firm voice. “Right now, w’re going to have another conversation.” Lexi tensed a bit again, but Ryan just kept talking. “You’ve got a couple of rules coming, kitten. You have been staying up late, getting to work late because of it … and you’ve hid it from me. Both aren’t going to fly, Lexi.” There was a pause as Lexi opened her mouth and closed it again, debating about arguing. But she said not a word. “Why’ve you been staying up, Lexi? And how late? Let’s deal with that first.”
There’s another long pause, and Ryan was about to scold when Lexi finally admitted: “I’ve been talking to my friends. Online. And my contacts, for work you know. And doing stuff for my side jobs. I just … lose track of time.” Lexi tried stopping there and ignoring his other question, but Ryan was having none of it.
“How late, Alexis?” he demanded in a growl.
“Pretty late,” she whispered. “Usually about three in the morning. Sometimes later. And I have to be out of the house by 6:15 to be just on time.”
Ryan just blinked at her. For the past two months, she had been getting by on about 2 hours of sleep a night on average? He was going to kill her. And that sentiment showed in the dark scowl that he aimed at her. Lexi tried squirming off of Ryan’ lap, but a sharp “Settle down, little girl,” had her rethinking her escape plan, and she hid her face against his chest instead, hiding from that dark look. “Okay. First, you now have a bedtime, Lexi. You will be in bed – lights out, showered, teeth brushed, and ready to sleep – by 11:00. If you want to read, you’ll be in bed earlier than that. Lights out at 11. Am I clear on that?”
Lexi balked at that, as he’d expected. “But that’s too early!” she immediately whined. “I don’t think I can sleep that early, anyway. We’ll make it midnight, okay?”
Ryan was shaking his head before she’d gotten halfway through her plea. “No. We aren’t making the decisions on this one, kitten. I am. And your bedtime is 11 PM. Each night. Including weekends. Your body will adjust, and you will be able to sleep. Eventually, if all is going well, we’ll talk about changing your bedtime on weekends. Until then, this is completely non-negotiable. Am I clear?”
Lexi’s expression was extremely – and unwisely – mutinous as she glared at him. “It’s too early. I don’t like that. Please Ryan, can’t we talk about it?”
Ryan’ eyes narrowed, and he leaned close, putting himself nose to nose with Lexi. “You don’t have to like it, little girl. This is a new rule for you, and what you have to do is obey it. And I won’t remind you again, Alexis Cheyenne. I’m not Ryan anymore. Not to you. I’m your Daddy, and that’s what you’ll call me. I’ll accept Da sometimes, if you want, but that’s as much leeway as you get.”
Ryan would have hesitated about that dictate and about forcing Lexi to use that title, but he knew how much she liked calling him Daddy, and how much it meant to her. And to him, for that matter. It was a subtle reminder to her of the love in their friendship, and the comfort of their relationship. She was just embarrassed by it. The more she used the term, the more she’d get over her embarrassment … and then she could enjoy it as much as Ryan did. He shook his head, setting that small issue aside. Ryan waited, sort of patiently, for Lexi’s concession to the matter at hand. After a long wait, she finally gave in with a jerky and obviously unhappy nod.
“I’ll accept that nod, Lexi. Just remember little one, you do not want to break my rules.” He cocked his eyebrow at her until Lexi ducked her head to avoid his gaze. “Now. Something you should have known much better than to do. You knew you were having problems, but you didn’t come to me. For two months,” Ryan’ voice slid from a soft tone to a harsh growl again. “It doesn’t happen again, little girl. If I catch you hiding something from me – no matter the reason – you’ll get a spanking you won’t forget for a long, long time. Is that clear?”
Lexi’s eyes flew wide and she stared at him. “I…” her voice trailed off under his clear, direct gaze. After a nervous moment, she tried again. “But I’m … you … you can’t.”
“Why can’t I, Lexi?” Ryan asked calmly. “I’m Daddy. Your Daddy. Oh, you’re a full grown woman, kitten, and capable of so very much. And I know that. I’m not going to take away any of your independence or success or accomplishments. I’ll never try to make you less than you are. I’m proud of who you are, and proud of what you’ve done with your life so far. My job is to help you do even better. By being your Daddy. Someone who will set reasonable rules for your life and behavior, and then enforce them. Just as I do with Hailey.”
Ryan paused, giving Lexi a moment to work that through in her mind. There was a difference, he knew, between talking and thinking about something, and actually doing it. There was an immense difference between what a person wants, and that want becoming reality. Lexi would need to adapt, he knew. And he would give her as much time as he could, but not enough time to let her continue sending her life on a downward spiral. He tucked her close, again gently rubbing her back and kissing her forehead. “You’re going to have to give over, Lexi.” Ryan held her close, feeling her tension slowly ease as he talked in a steady, gentle tone. “You’ve got some rules now, and you’ll be getting more as we go along. And all of them – each one – will be made only for the reason of helping you to be as happy and as healthy and as content as possible. And the biggest rule you’re going to have is this: don’t ever hide anything from me.”
Ryan didn’t move, didn’t stop caressing Lexi, didn’t change position. Even his voice didn’t change much. But a solid thread of steel was clearly evident, and Lexi heard it. “You will not hide anything from me, Lexi,” he said again. “Not for any reason. Not because you think I’m too busy, or too tired, or not up to dealing with it. Not because you don’t want to burden me, or you don’t want to interfere. Not because you think I have too much going on. And certainly not because you don’t want to be in trouble. None of that – NONE of it – is your decision. I won’t accept it, Alexis Cheyenne Stanton. Is that clear?”
Ryan’s voice was velvet over steel, and when he shifted Lexi so he could look in her eyes, the hard expression she saw there let her know there was no give in this at all. Ryan meant what he said, and he wouldn’t accept any excuses, ever, on this issue. His use of her full name had her feeling exactly like a small andnaughty child as she bit her lower lip in some nervousness. But she found no give in Ryan just now, and not a single loophole in his command. He was indeed clear, and she shamefacedly nodded again. This time, Ryan accepted her nod without comment, knowing that this was all entirely new for Lexi.
“Good girl,” he said giving her another hug. “Now, this is the first time we’ve had to deal with something, kitten. And, frankly, you’ve earned a spanking. But I’m not going to … this time. You’re sure not getting off scot free, though.” Ryan nudged Lexi off of his lap and stood himself. Reaching over, he took a pad of paper and a pen from a drawer in his desk, and handed them to Lexi. Then he walked across the room, and dragged one of the armchairs over to face a corner. “Come here, Lexi.” She rolled her eyes at the idea of cornertime, and opened her mouth to argue. “Now, Alexis,” Ryan said, stopping her whine before she started.
With a dramatic sigh, Lexi walked over to where Ryan stood. Her theatrical efforts only earned her a quick swat to her backside before she was unceremoniously plopped into the chair. “I don’t need the act, kitten. I just need an obedient little girl, hmm?” Lexi’s deep blush was her only answer. “Now, here’s what you’re going to do. I want an essay from you. It doesn’t matter how long it is, as long as you’re sincere.”
Lexi opened her mouth to argue again, and Ryan cut right across her. “Hush! This is important, Alexis.” Between his tone and his words, Lexi closed her mouth again, and listened closely. “This essay is to be about whether you think I can help you when you need it if you don’t talk to me. If you don’t let me know what’s going on when things are wrong. You’re going to let me know how you think I can be a Daddy, if you’re not going to be honest about what you need. And it’s going to be about what’s going on in your life now. The things you want to talk about, but sometimes can’t. And the things you want and hope for and dream of. And the things you wish you didn’t have in your life, or didn’t have to deal with. All of it, Lexi. Just write everything down as it comes to you, and let it out, okay? When you’re done, or you need a break, you can get my attention and ask me. But you’re not getting out of that chair without my permission. Understand, kitten?”
Lexi suddenly didn’t mind the cornertime nearly as much as the assignment. “My hand’s gonna fall off,” she mumbled obstinately. Ryan laughed, but kissed her forehead. “Stay here a moment.” He took the pad from her and left the room. Minutes later, Ryan reappeared with Hailey’s laptop in hand. “There. That will save your fingers, hmm?” Lexi sighed, her only possible objection having been neatly handled. She still didn’t want to do this: it would require complete honesty. She’d have to let out all of the stuff she’s been afraid to “dump” on Ryan. All of what she’d been hiding. But then, he knew that. Which is exactly the reason he required it. It was time for Lexi to be honest with her Daddy … and herself.
“Start working, baby,” Ryan said in a whisper and went back to his desk. He knew this was hard for her, but it was too important. Lexi shifted in her chair and fidgeted and adjusted her position and adjusted her seat and just about anything she could to postpone working. Ryan just let her squirm, not saying a word. She wasn’t going to get up without his permission, and that permission wasn’t going to be forthcoming without a decent attempt at the assignment he’d set. When Lexi realized that her fussing wasn’t having any effect, she gave up with a loud groan. Ryan was one of the very few that could out-stubborn her, so she finally just started typing. Once she started, it was over an hour before Lexi stopped. She’d typed many pages, and most of that had grammatical errors that would have made her English professor cry. But everything she’d felt and thought – and a lot that even Lexi hadn’t realized had been simmering inside of her – was all laid out, and it was all honest. Just the act of getting out the thoughts had her feeling better … something that Ryan had hoped for.
Ryan had been keeping a surreptitious eye on her, waiting for her to take a break and, as Lexi sat up and stretched in her chair, he came over to her and removed the laptop, saving the file and moving it to his desk. Then he opened his arms to Lexi and she clamored out of the chair to barrel over into his arms, hugging him tightly.
“I know it was tough, kitten. But I’m proud of you.” They cuddled for a bit longer, Lexi needing the contact after the emotional release her essay had brought, and Ryan wanting the contact because he did love the girl. Finally he dropped a kiss on the top of her head. “Hey, why don’t you ask Hailey if she wants to have a slumber party, hmm?”
Lexi looked up at Ryan for a minute, then giggled. “Slumber parties are no fun unless you can stay up real late, yanno,” she said with a grin.
“Then we’ll have to pack enough fun into the hours ‘tween now and 11 that you won’t miss any, I guess,” he replied with a raised eyebrow. With a soft grin, Lexi gave up the feeble argument.
That was Lexi’s first time letting Ryan actually BE her Daddy, though it wasn’t the last time she struggled with it, and got into trouble for fighting him. Still, it went very far to helping her settle, and begin accepting that someone loved her and cared about her enough to hold her to standards and help her be better. Slowly and steadily, Lexi’s life became more settled, more organized, and more controlled. Usually.
