April's Fools Gone Awry
It was an odd thing to do on a Sunday morning, but this day only came once a year. Still wet from the shower, Sandra Davis stood in front of the computer wearing only her robe. She couldn't risk sitting and leaving a damp spot on the seat nor could she afford the time to dry and change.
Time.
Time was her enemy today, but time was also at the heart of the plan. Sandra knew she had to hurry but proofed the email one last time.

I gave it allot of thought on the first leg of the flight. Maybe you're right. Maybe you should have the final say on how Sandra gets punished. As you said, her backside's not made of glass; it won't break and something like that might help her get things together.

Sandra clicked 'send' and smiled.
"And here I thought I couldn't come up with a good April's Fool joke this year." Sandra grinned.
Not that Sandra wanted to be spanked, but she didn't think spanking was really in the cards. In theory (at least in Sandra's theory) there was no way that Sandra's stepmother Laurel would fall for this, not for an email containing one of dad's most hated misused words. Sandra loved her father, but God knows he was quirky at times and was of his biggest quirks was misused words. He hated to see 'allot' being used for 'a lot' almost as much as he despised seeing the word 'irregardless'.
Laurel had been pushing for the household to embrace spankings practically since the wedding (and maybe before), but for only Sandra and not Laurel's own daughter, Amy. The two girls were only three months apart in age, but Laurel maintained that her daughter was good girl who had been brought up right and didn't need spankings now. Sandra, on the other hand, hadn't had a mother figure in her life the last for three years and Laurel was convinced that the girl had grown up wild. Wild enough that Sandra needed spanking at her age, while the slightly younger Amy was 'too mature' for them.
Not that Sandra was supposed to know any of this. Her parents had kept their voices down and only talked when they thought she couldn't hear them, but she had overheard enough hissing voices drifting through the walls to know all about the debate over her bottom. In being kept out of the loop had hurt; knowing that her father was discussing her future and not allowing her to have any say in the matter.
But Sandra didn't have time to dwell on that now. She clicked on the 'sent' folder and deleted the newly sent email. Then she clicked on the trash and permanently deleted it. Next Sandra went to the email program's settings and changed back the sender information, from her father's info to her stepsister's. Finally she clicked on the system time, resetting so it matched the time on her phone.
That was one tech trick her "good girl" stepsister had taught her. Everyone knew that sometimes emails got lost for a while, but Amy Seddon had worked out a trick, claiming that she had sent an email yesterday and when it arrived it looked like it had been lost for a day in cyberspace. You just had to send the email from Thunderbird on a computer whose time and date had been fixed and voila, proof that you actually had sent that email yesterday.
That was one of the many tricks that Sandra Davis had picked up from her new stepsister, but somehow Laurel was convinced that it was Sandra who needed her bottom tanned. All because Amy was better at hiding things, like how Amy always remembered to put her bra back on and fix her hair before she got home from a date.
The timestamp on the email, 20 minutes ago, would prove that Sandra hadn't sent it. That was smack in the middle of her assigned shower time (a pair of teenage girls fighting over the same bathroom meant that there was a shower schedule) and Sandra knew that Amy would have been alone here, in this room, then. That her stepsister would be giving Mr. Tingly a workout, using the sound of Sandra's shower to cover the noise from the vibrator. Since Amy never bothered to change the password on her computer, it had been simplicity itself to creep into her room and send the email from Amy's computer while the girl was in the shower. Luckily Amy never emailed or messaged while using Mr. Tingly or a big part of the plan wouldn't work; when checked someone would notice the time anomaly and that would be bad.
Her plan in place, Sandra carefully crept back to her own room. All the while trying not to giggle. This was the perfect April's Fool's joke and there was no way it could backfire on her.
Once safe in her room, Sandra ran the plan through her mind one last time. If the woman in her father's life replied to the email then it would seem like Laurel was pulling an April's Fools on Sandra's father or one on her own mother and stepsister. If Laurel showed her the email then would Sandra would just point out the lack of her father's standard sig. Then she would 'discover' the word 'allot' and say something like: "You almost had me - good try for April's Fools". Sandra was sure that when she did so she would be leaving her stepmother too confused to actually do anything. But if Laurel doesn't show it to Sandra or wasn't confused when Sandra pointed out the errors...
Sandra didn't think that was likely but that was why she had snuck into her stepsister's room and typed it on Amy's computer. Kevin Davis was computer consultant (which was why he travelling, due this evening) and when he got home he would be able to trace the email to the computer that sent it, turning it into an April's Fools prank on Amy. Amy would be grounded, seriously grounded, meaning that Sandra would have unlimited use of the 'spare' car (the one that she knew should be hers alone). And maybe, just maybe, it would an April's Fools joke that kept on giving.
Sandra knew that Laurel was big, very big, on honesty. If Amy kept 'lying' and saying that she wasn't behind that joke it would show everyone that Amy wasn't the good girl that everyone believed her to be. Then maybe spankings might be back in Amy's life. And in the worse case... Sandra didn't think there was a any real risk that Laurel would spank her, but she imagined that having a sore butt would be a small price to pay to show them all what kind of girl Amy really was. And if she was caught, Sandra could just say April's Fools joke and hope that everyone laughed.
Still in her robe, Sandra started to brush her hair.
Laurel Seddon checked her email and smiled. She didn't bother to reply; now that her husband had made the right decision why reply and risk reopening the debate? Instead she went hunting in the back of her closet. At one of her weddings showers (the one that none of Kevin's family had been invited to) someone had given Laurel a gift with Amy in mind. It was the cutest little pink paddle and Laurel had wanted to christen it before the honeymoon, but her ever indulgent husband had put his foot down and said no, his little girl was far too old to spank. For months that little paddle had languished in the closet, waiting for the day that it could be used.
Finding it, Laurel thought for a moment. There had been that issue yesterday. Sandra had wanted to go out with friends and leave her homework for today while Laurel wanted it done before Sandra left the house. Homework hasn't really been the issue; respect was. After Sandra's lack of respect and the language the girl had used when back talking it would be simple enough for Laurel to say that she had slept on the problem and this was the solution she had come up with.
When Amy Seddon stepped out of the shower she heard sounds of spanking mixed with squeals. Diving into her robes she followed the noises to the open door of the master bedroom. There was Sandra, her hair still wet from the shower, twisting and writhing in a robe as a paddle painted her bare bum pink. Smiling, Amy returned to her room, leaving the door open so she could hear. From what she heard, Amy knew that Sandra's bum was being painted a good shade of red.
Amy wasn't sure what had caused the change. Maybe her stepsister had finally gone too far or maybe her mother had just decided it was better to ask forgiveness than ask permission. To present Kevin with a fait accompli, showing him that a spanking wouldn't kill his little princess and doing it now so Sandra's tears would be dry before her father's plane landed. As far as Amy could see, the only downside from this new regime was that maybe Sandra wouldn't be grounded as often and would want to drive the spare car (which Amy knew should be hers alone) when Amy needed it.
When it came to spanking itself, they hadn't been part of her life for years. Amy could barely remember those times her mother spanked her but as for the paddle, its introduction had been a watershed moment in Amy's young life. The first time she had been paddled was the exact moment that Amy had decided that if she couldn't be good all the time (and who could?) then at least she could be careful. Careful planning had literally saved her butt countless and convinced her mother that she always tread the straight and narrow path.
Amy had to grin at that. Amy knew that she got away with things that Sandra the Nerdling would never dare try, but because she was careful it was Sandra squealing under that paddle while Amy listened on smiling.
As she tried to make herself comfortable enough to go to sleep, Sandra had to acknowledge that this had been the strangest April's Fools day she had ever seen.
'Who would have guess that the witch wouldn't reply to an email like that?' Sandra wondered, turning from her side to her belly. 'Or that when Amy left the shower she would have been treated to the sight of me over her mother's lap? Or that Laurel wouldn't bother to check afterwards so she didn't have a clue until she went to pick dad up from the airport?'
From what she heard, that evening there had been a mini explosion in the car on the ride home - with Kevin Davis demanding to know everything about the email that he claimed he had never sent.
After checking on her (and thankfully not asking to inspect the damage), Sandra's father had glanced at the headers on that email and gone to straight Amy's computer. Finding nothing in his stepdaughter's email Kevin had gone to his own system, logging into the RAID that backed up all the computers on the home network. Sandra was sure that neither Seddon had ever given the backup system any thought, but Sandra knew that it recorded up to ten versions of every file on every computer in the house (which was great went you accidentally saved over an assignment). Ignoring the current version, Kevin had gone straight to Amy's 'sent' and 'trash' folders that had existed just after the time stamp on the fake email.
The situation that followed had been loud and messy. Amy kept insisting that she hadn't sent any emails and insisted that someone must have hacked into her computer - a possibility that Kevin disproved by checking the low level logs of his firewall. Sandra had suggested that it might have been a sisterly April's Fools joke, but everyone ignored her. After Amy denied everything for the umpteenth time and Kevin said something about 'good enough for my daughter but your daughter is too mature to get into mischief', Laurel decided that it was time that Amy was reacquainted with paddling.
Reacquainted bare bottom with her stepfather and stepsister seeing the first of it, before Kevin escorted his daughter from the room.
That had cleared the atmosphere a bit, at least between the adults. Amy went straight from her spanking to her room where she sulked for the rest of the night while Sandra avoided everyone, not sure what would happen if she revealed the 'joke' she had pulled.
Sandra was almost asleep when she heard the paddle in use again. To her shock, it wasn't Amy getting a second dose. No, it was her father's reaction to Sandra being paddled when his new wife 'should have known damn well' (as the overheard angry whispers put it) that he was dead set against it happening.
As she tried to sleep through the noise, Sandra realised that of the three girls in the house she had the least colour in her cheeks; most of it having faded before her father's return.
'Three of us all getting paddled by the same paddle.' Sandra thought sleepily. 'That's got to be one for the record books. Shit like this could never happen again.'
Later, when her late night muses were proved wrong, Sandra half regretted pulling her little joke. But only half; seeing Amy put in her place and knowing that the same methods kept Laurel in line was worth the occasional sore bum. At least that's what Sandra thought when it wasn't her bottom feeling the paddle. When that was happening, Sandra was usually too busy crying to do much thinking at all.
