The Continuing Storm: A Nat and Alyssa Story – Part 3

It was two days later and her bottom still hurt. Not that she didn’t deserve the spanking Nat had given her. Alyssa readily admitted that she had totally and completely deserved it. She couldn’t stop the nervousness and jitters that she had about what would come next. The past two days had been spent writing essays about respect, the meaning, what she could and would do to be more respectful. Lots and lots of writing, all while sitting on one very hard kitchen chair.

Today they were going to address the other lovely things that she had done. Nat had informed her of this last night. She was still sore from the spanking two days ago, she had no idea how she could endure any other punishments. But she would. Alyssa was determined that no matter how much she thought that she would die, she was going to accept whatever punishment Nat said that she earned. She was determined to prove to him that she respected him and that she could and would behave.

Nat glanced at the clock, Alyssa would be down soon. Today would be telling, that was for sure. Sure enough, within half an hour he heard her footsteps on the stairs and a few minutes later she appeared in the kitchen. He could tell she was nervous, her body was rigid. He merely raised his eyebrows as she bypassed the coffee and went straight to the table and took a seat.

For a few moments they just looked at one another. Alyssa expected him to speak and Nat expected her to inquire. He knew that she couldn’t hold out that long, she hated the silence. It made her nervous. Nat was still gathering his own thoughts, making decisions on where to proceed to from here. He had gotten halfway through the thought process when he heard the quiet, tentative, “uh, Nat?” from the seat next to him. He smiled to himself. He knew she wouldn’t last that long.

Turning to look at her, he made certain that his face conveyed a somewhat stern expression. The look was all it took, it usually was. Alyssa began bubbling over with apologies and promises never to repeat the offense again. He let her continue for close to a minute before stopping her with one quick, “Alyssa!”
She stopped immediately, effectively snapping her mouth shut and nearly biting the insides of her lips to prevent herself from talking. Yes, the one thing about Alyssa, even when you were spitting mad at her, or trying to have a serious conversation, such as this one, it could be quite difficult because of things like her sealing her lips shut.

“All right, Alyssa,” Nat continued after taking a brief moment to mentally ready himself for the conversation, remind himself of the seriousness of the matter. “It isn’t that I’m questioning whether you are sorry, I know you are.” He saw her open her mouth to say something, so he held up his hand to stop her.

Alyssa snapped her mouth shut again. She really wanted to interject something there. Technically she wanted to apologize again, but still, same thing. He wouldn’t let her. She couldn’t quite help the small frown that came over her face as he began talking again. Holding up his hand to silence her…she hated that.

“I know you’re sorry, Lyssa, I know you feel bad, I know that you’ll promise me right here and now that you’ll never do any of those things again,” Nat said to her. This time she looked at him as to whether or not she could speak and he indicated that it wasn’t her turn yet. “You and I have discussed the issue of lying on more than one occasion, however.” At this, Alyssa felt herself automatically begin to respond, but again, she didn’t get further than opening her mouth before the warning look on Nat’s face told her that she’d be wise to close it.
“On top of that,” Nat continued, “while what you did was a childish and immature prank, it could have had very serious consequences, and I’m not quite sure, at this point, how to impress that upon you.”
When Alyssa looked at him this time, he seemed open to her speaking, but she didn’t quite know what to say. What did he mean, he didn’t know? “What are you saying? Are you…I don’t understand. What do you mean you don’t know?”

Pondering his response for a moment, Nat looked at the ceiling, noticing for the first time exactly how much dust and grime had accumulated up there. “Alyssa,” he replied after a moment, moving his eyes back down so that he could look right into her eyes, knowing that the few seconds of silence was probably killing her, “I have spent the last two days thinking about what would be an appropriate punishment for this latest…event. And, to use your words, ‘I don’t know’. Therefore, I’m not going to decide on one.” He watched a look of horror come over her face and nearly chuckled. Again, she was the only person he knew that would look horrified and upset at the prospect of his not selecting a punishment.

“Calm yourself down,” he ordered, sensing she was about to mentally work herself into an anxiety fit. He didn’t know why that seemed to work, but ordering her to do so usually did, indeed, calm her down. After a minute or so, when she was breathing at a regular pace, and no longer looked like she thought the world was going to crash down on her, he continued. “All right, it is close to 10AM at the moment and I think we’ll be having a late lunch, probably around 1.” He observed Alyssa watching him with pure bafflement, knowing she wanted more than anything to demand why he was telling her the meal schedule.

“It’s close to 10 AM at the moment,” Nat said to her, Alyssa had to stop herself from rolling her eyes. She could very easily see the time. “and I think we’ll be having a late lunch, probably around 1.” She could feel the smart mouthed-sarcastic remark on the tip of her tongue, so much so that she clamped her jaw shut to stop herself from saying it, catching the edge of her tongue in the process. She winced at the pain and could taste the small amount of blood begin to ooze into her mouth. It was obvious that Nat had seen as he just raised his eyebrows, pausing a moment, before continuing.

“That gives you about three hours,” he told her. Now her interest was piqued. Three hours to do something. Something to redeem herself possibly? “When we sit down to lunch, Alyssa, you are going to tell me what your punishment should be. Only you know what will really get through to you so that we don’t keep repeating this over and over, and what will impress upon you the severity of your actions.”

Had she heard that correctly? He wanted her to decide this? She opened her mouth to retort, to say something, anything, but nothing came out. That was a new one. She saw Nat chuckle and felt herself blush with embarrassment. He then stood up and announced that she could stay there, go to her room, the living room, wherever she liked. She just needed to have an answer by lunch. He gave her shoulder a fond squeeze before walking out. Alyssa didn’t turn around to watch him exit but she listened and could hear him go into the hall and up the stairs. He had to be going to his bedroom as it was really the only other place upstairs to go.

She needed a place to think, a place to talk this out, even if it was talking to herself. While she could have utilized the guest bedroom, ultimately her bedroom, as there was an awesome full length mirror in there, it was right next to the master bedroom. Alyssa wasn’t too keen on the idea of her conversation floating through the walls. So, instead, she went the opposite direction, down to the basement. While she hadn’t spent more than ten minutes there in the entire time she’d been here she’d seen enough to know there was a huge mirror.

Clomping down the stairs, flicking the lights on, she placed herself in front of the mirrored side wall and simply frowned at her reflection. After about ten seconds she said, out loud, “well this is easy, it’s a spanking, duh.”

Glancing in the mirror she saw herself staring back and said, “okay, that is kind of obvious, he probably wants the details, like with his hand or whatever, huh?” She had been pacing as she talked. Stopping, she looked back at her reflection and said, “yeah. Well how the hell am I supposed to decide all that?”

Oh that's going to be a tough decision, one no spankee would want to make in her shoes. Please don't make us wait forever.

This is really beautiful! You have developed the character of Alyssa extremely well... (I imagine that she is you). I can almost see you staring at the mirror and talking to yourself as you wrestle nervously with your thoughts!
